Godfrey Ermen Playing Field
Godfrey Ermen Playing Field is the last remaining natural site in Abbey Hey. It was left to the residents of Abbey Hey to be used as a playing field.
Due to drainage issues on the site, it is no longer used for sports, so locals and non locals use the field everyday for recreational purposes. This includes, walking, jogging, exercising dogs and horses amongst other things. There is an abundance of wildlife which includes, frogs, toads, newts, bats, foxes and various species of bird, including sparrow hawks. It is a great place for children to come and explore nature in its natural habitat. There are also various types of plants and trees, many of which the birds nest in.
